- Mitzvah Opportunity -

Everyone has a old siddur, machzor or other Holy text that is no longer usable.

The Torah forbids discarding holy objects by throwing them into the trash. Some objects always have kedusha and must be placed in shaimos.

The shul is collecting Shaimos to be buried in Agudath Achim Cemetery as a memorial to Harry and Elaine Cohen who will be reburied in Israel this August. The family has requested that Shaimos be buried in the already existing plots.

Long-time Bradley Beach residents and friends remember the Cohen Family fondly. For many years the special Cohanim Nigun was a part of all the Holiday services at Agudath Achim.

Anyone who has Shaimos is welcome to bring them to the Shul for collection. The Shul has made arrangements with Bloomfield-Cooper who is handling the details for the Cohen family.

There is no set fee for the Shamos Drop-Off. Donations are always welcome.

All Shaimos MUST be brought to the Shul no later than  Thursday August 9, 2018.
